Why is registration only via a wait list?
We want to ensure that we have enough players and coaches to form full teams, before we require parents to register and pay.
My child is aged 4-7, where can they play?
Children aged 4-7 are encouraged to sign up in our baseball divisions, where they will learn the fundamentals that will allow them to play softball in a few years. Baseball is entirely co-ed.
What softball divisions to you offer?
Minor Division (8-, 9-, and 10-year olds)
Minor division softball is for girls aged 8-10*, and features a pitching distance of 35 feet, with 60 foot basepaths. Due to limited local Little League competition, regular season games in this division will potentially involve travel to the San Fernando Valley, Westside, South Bay, and San Gabriel Valley, among other LA-area locations. Expect one to two practices a week, plus one to two games weekly. Practices begin in early February and the season will likely end before Memorial Day.
Major Division (10-, 11-, and 12-year olds)
Major division softball is for girls aged 10-12*, and features a pitching distance of 40 feet, with 60 foot basepaths. Due to limited local Little League competition, regular season games in this division will likely involve travel to the San Fernando Valley, Westside, South Bay, and San Gabriel Valley, among other LA-area locations. Expect one to two practices a week, plus one to two games weekly. Practices begin in early February and the regular season will likely end before Memorial Day.
In addition, there is the possibility of a player being selected for a Burbank All Star team that enters the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Girls Little League Softball World Series, featuring teams from around the world. All Star practices typically start in mid-June with tournament play beginning after the 4th of July, potentially running through August.
Junior Division (13- and 14-year olds)
Junior division softball is for girls aged 13-14*, and features a pitching distance of 43 feet, with 60 foot basepaths. Due to limited local Little League competition, regular season games in this division will likely involve travel to the San Fernando Valley, Westside, South Bay, and San Gabriel Valley, among other LA-area locations. Expect one to two practices a week plus one to games weekly. Practices begin in early February and the regular season will likely end before Memorial Day.
