Breaking News - Registration is Open!

Dear Burbank Little League Families,

We would like to start out this letter with our sincere apologies for the lack of communication we have had with all of you over the past few months. We realize that we should have set up a regular communication method that provided you with updates on the progress of getting back onto the fields. As a board we dropped the ball, and we are sorry.

A major hurdle has been the uncertainty over our ability to facilitate a season. Los Angeles County just moved into a tier that will allow for outdoor sports under very restrictive guidelines. With this news, we are excited to announce that Burbank Little League will run a 2021 season. It will look at lot different, but we will have the best experience possible.

Registration is open NOW. When the registration window closes on March 15th, we will work to put teams together as quickly as possible. If you have an existing credit from the last season, it will be applied to your account. If you have already registered, you DO NOT need to register again, you will be contacted by your coach following team assignments.

Many new safety protocols will have to be followed for the league to operate. Below are some of the county guidelines that will be followed:

  • 6 feet distancing with stable cohorts
  • Face coverings must be worn by players, coaches, and spectators
  • Screening checks prior to coming onto the field (players, volunteers, and families)
  • Only 1 competition per team per day
  • Team benches/dugouts must have 6ft distance for all participants
  • No sharing equipment (gloves/bats/helmets)
  • Wiping down of all equipment touched by more than one person (bases/balls)
  • Reporting of any Covid-19 cases to local and regional authorities
  • For our T-ball participants, we are taking extra precautions. T-ball teams will not compete against each other but play inter-squad games. This will help keep the kids safely distanced.

To be able to meet these guidelines and any additional requirements of the city and county to get players back onto the field, we have a higher need for volunteers this season. All Little League volunteers will be required to complete a background check and complete a concussion awareness online training. Without a strong volunteer turnout, we will not be able to operate within the county’s safety protocols.

We all want our children out on the field and having fun, let us do it the right way by making it the safest experience possible. If you are registering for the season, register as a volunteer while on the site.
